Marc Greco – Artist statement

My photographic art practice reflects the way I view the world, and with the chronic conditions of anxiety and depression, these themes are naturally prevalent in my work. Digital photography grants instant access to the images captured, and this immediacy offers me an opportunity to capture how I think and feel during the darkest days and attempt to portray it in my work. In recognition that these feelings will always return, I have embraced the spirit of Sisyphus and Albert Camus’s philosophical concept of the absurd, so that this creative, repetitive photographic process helps me focus and work through these depressive episodes.
